SAAB, Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified systems and equipment for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world's largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
Product Area Control & Actuation is part of the Business Unit Avionics Systems and has its operation in Jönköping and Järfälla. Safety Critical Control Computers, Electro Mechanical Actuators, Mission Computers and Head Up Display Systems are typical products. The products are used for aircraft control, enhanced mission capability and for situational awareness in the domain of Airborne applications.
Din framtida utmaning
As a Mechanical Development Engineer within Product Area Control & Actuation, you act as a resource within the whole Avionics Systems. The group consists of approximately 10 competent engineers divided between Mechanical and Power Electronics Design.
Your main task will be to develop new products as well as maintaining existing ones according to our processes. You are expected to contribute with efficient and reliable mechanical solutions on system level, as well as practicing relevant software tools for creating product structures, reviews, demands and documentation.
Catia V5/V6 is the CAD program and Ansys is the tool for different simulation analyses. As a development engineer for avionic equipment you often face tight envelopes to fit the function, meet weight restrictions as well as harsh environments when it comes to for instance vibration and temperature intervals.

Your qualifications
You have a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5-8 years documented experience within electro mechanics, mechanical transmission and gear design is a merit
You are creative with an "outside the box approach" in concept phases, at the same structured and accurate when it comes to closing the projects thereby fulfilling time- and cost frames
Good working knowledge in FEM-analysis, experience in Ansys is a plus
You are expected to be cooperative at the same time self-propelled as the project sizes vary from single to several designers working together.
Experience in design of airborne systems is a merit
Fluent in Swedish and are freely communicating in English
