It is done by cross-functional delivery teams that has design ownership for products over its whole life time. Our vision is to be the best in the world at what we do - customer value, technology and product development execution for welding solutions.
The Senior Mechanical Designer will be part of the Wire Feeder Delivery team in Gothenburg. The Wire Feeder delivery team is a part of our Global R&D for Equipment and Standard Automation products.
As a Senior Mechanical Designer your responsibilities will be to:
• Break down system requirements to Product and design requirements.
• Analyze, develop and document new products from start to end. (Select components, simulate/calculate, design, verification- and test specification, verify)
• Mechanical drawings in 3D (Solidworks) and PDM system (SmarTeam)
• Drive pre-development of new technologies for Wire Feeding solutions
• Drive sub-deliveries to projects.
• Maintain existing products.
• Develop his/hers role as a specialist.
Who are you?
You find it exciting to be a part of ESAB's Center of Welding Excellence and want to be a main contributor, bringing ESAB welding products into the next generation.
We believe that you have an MSc in Mechanics or corresponding competence received in other ways and have been working at least 10 years with mechanical design including mechanized/automatized movement. Experience of plastic design is advantage.
As a person you have strong technical interest with analytical skills. You are open minded and innovative with a strong driving force to plan, process and resolve issues in a timely manner. You are excellent in both written and verbal communications in English and preferably also in Swedish.
You like to work in cross-functional teams and you have a strong interest in working according to Agile methods.
The position is placed in Gothenburg, Sweden. Some traveling is required.
