We're looking for a Senior Manager Product Development Quality to join Northvolt! The Product Development Quality Manager (PQDM) is accountable of ensuring that all the quality processes (including tools and methods) in product & process projects are performed. He/She defines the minimum QMS guidelines for all projects, covering internal production and equipment design & manufacturing to meet all product requirements according to standard and regulations, as well as customer. The PQDM is an active and key stakeholder during the product gating process to properly assess the risks with the relevant stakeholders, provide a recommendation on the way forward based on the risk assessment, and ensure a proper mitigation action is in place if needed. He/She defines project quality activities: how these should be planned, driven and followed-up on, to ensure project objectives and customer satisfaction are reached. The PQDM ensures that the quality activities are started at the right time in the project and driven until a successful launch, taking corrective actions when necessary.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Oversees activities of Product Development team including Quality Control operations for prototyping production lines.
• Ensures the all product's requirements in terms for standard, regulations and customer input are clearly defined, provided and understood by the Product Development team.
• Defines the minimum QMS guidelines for all projects covering internal production and equipment design & manufacturing to meet all product requirements according to standard and regulations, as well as customers.
• Is a key stakeholder during the product gating process to properly assess the project risks with the relevant stakeholders, ensure proper risk assessments are performed and provides a recommendation on the way forward based on the outcome of the risk assessments, and ensures a coherent mitigation action is defined and implemented if needed.
• Supports the team in the resolution of complex issues within product development management or resolution of technical issues.
• Ensure proper handover of activities from Product Development Quality team to Manufacturing Quality and Customer Quality functions.
• Work alongside project stakeholders to identify high risks overall the project and escalates to management team.
• Ensures lessons learned are correctly documented, deployed and applied across the projects.
• Supports review of new contract proposals for potential customers regarding product development.
Qualifications/education/experience
• MSc in e.g. Chemical/Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical engineering
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in similar industry, such as automotive, medical devices, high-tech electronics manufacturing. Battery systems experience is a major plus, but not a must.
• Experienced in implementing quality management systems and standards
• Highly experienced in quality improvement and problem-solving tools such as six sigma, 8D etc (Six sigma certifications are a major plus).
• Experience in building a successful Quality organization in a very fast-growing environment
• Exposure to full supply chain & manufacturing process, with understanding of end-to-end quality management
• Knowledge and technical understanding of regulated industry processes, components and manufacturing techniques
• Experience from a multi-cultural environment

Specific skills (eg specific programmes, languages, certifications etc)
• Perfect English proficiency
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, six-sigma (green or black belt), 8D, 5S, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949
• Excellent knowledge of Risk Management, Risk Identification and Risked Based approaches
• Skilled in Business Process Management
