hela Sverige Senior Manager, Logistics Engineering is a key role in the team belonging to the sub-unit Global Core & Car Program within the Global logistics team. You will be leading an engaged and diverse team of logistics engineers that are Subject Matter Experts in their respective field of responsibility.
The role is functionally responsible for
* Setting logistics strategies, requirements and standards related to in-plant material handling and packaging solutions globally
* Leading the logistics' work in car programs in the concept phase with the objective to secure that logistics strategies, requirements and standards are included in the industrialization phase in a quality and cost efficient manner.
This key logistics role gives a unique exposure to the product creation process at Volvo Cars as well an opportunity to impact the global logistics strategies and standards of a growing global industrial footprint in a truly cross functional process.
The role is reporting to the Senior Director, Global Core & Car program.
Main responsibilities
* Ensure implementation of agreed logistics strategies and standards in new car programs before start of production, following the VCMS (Volvo Cars Manufacturing System) standards.
* Secure product and logistics process compatibility for car program, including the implementation of established process strategies in the areas of in-plant material handling and packaging
* Drive and protect commonality, standardization and cost efficiency in all key processes and across plants
* Setting of generic ideal layout for a site (plant) related to logistics processes
* Drive and secure the application of lean principles in in-plant material handling
* Develop strong interfaces and relationships with key stakeholders including but not limited to Purchasing, Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering.
* Global coordination and alignment of key areas of responsibility with regional counter parts
* Lead the team in a way that supports the Volvo Cars culture and wanted leadership behaviors
* Performance management, competence development, knowledge sharing and resource allocation according to requirements of the business

The right candidate has a strong personal leadership in line with Volvo Cars values and you are highly successful in bringing out the best in others. You find energy and motivation in releasing others' potential, allowing them to grow. Thanks to your excellent communication skills you have the ability to create strong and trustful relationships.
Your background is from a manufacturing logistics environment. Experience of applying lean principles in a manufacturing and / or logistics environment is seen as a merit. You have understanding of cross functional work and proven ability of same and you are fluent in English.
We are looking for a candidate with several years of previous experience from both leadership and project management, preferably from automotive. In addition to your experience your personality and leadership capability will be of outmost importance.
