We are now looking for a Senior Manager for Global Cost Engineering as a member of Polestar global purchasing organization.

We are now looking for a Senior Manager for Global Cost Engineering as a member of Polestar global purchasing organization. This role will work closely with the global team to ensure procurement deliverables. This role will work in close collaboration with Polestar purchasing and R&D and the main responsibilities will be to support to achieve cost optimized design solutions and competitive cost throughout vehicle life cycle including advanced engineering, actively providing fact-based input and negotiation support to reach best value for the company.

This role will report to Head of Direct Material and is located either at our HQ in Gothenburg-Sweden or in Coventry-UK or in Shanghai-China.

What you'll do

• Plan and perform the main tasks according to program plan when applicable
• Provide full support to global CE organization to drive efficiency and to set up collaboration with global mindset
• To participate in senior level meetings to ensure global CE presence when it is necessary
• Provide cost estimation based on "state of the art" on material, machines and process technology
• Deliver cost benchmark analysis on vehicle level as well as system and component level
• Deliver cost targets on sub-system level at PS gate in new programs
• Support R&D for cost competitiveness when evaluating and selecting technical concepts
• Deliver cost estimation to target evaluation
• Deliver should cost estimation and fact-base negotiation arguments to new sourcing contracts and changes versus contracts
• Actively support global DM category teams in fact-base negotiations in order to meet the right cost level
• Deliver benchmark cost and delta analysis for raw material fluctuation
• Act as a member of cost reduction teams. Deliver cost estimation on parts in running production and on new ideas
• Act as cost specialist in competitor analysis
• Perform tasks in line with CE guidelines to secure lean operation with stable quality and transparency
• Coach the team, empower them and support them to reach their professional and personal goals
• Create career development plans with your team and follow up on the progress
• Inspire others to make the world a better place

Who you are

To succeed in this role, we believe that you have exceptional communication skills, a strong inclusive leadership and a yes-can-do approach.

• University degree in engineering, business management or equivalent
• More than 10 years working experiences in cost estimation, manufacturing, tooling, production area in well-known OEM or tier 1 supplier or tooling company
• Good knowledge of a wide range of commodities to provide team with sufficient business support when it is necessary
• Excellent database gathering skills are needed such as machine rate, raw material rate, labour rate, etc.
• Global purchasing mindset is required
• Familiar with tooling structure and manufacturing
• Have fact-base negotiation and cost analysis skills
• Positive and passionate, nothing is impossible mindset, great team player
• Experiences working in global environment is a plus.
