Key performance areas
As Senior Manager you are responsible for strategic planning and execution in the material and process technology areas. You act as chairperson of the Seco Technology and Process Council (TPC) and manage the external research portfolio within the area of material and process technology. In this role you also have focus on identifying synergies and collaborative opportunities to strengthen both Seco and SMS. You have daily operational duties within the material and process technology function through active support of the team, as well as through an establishment of strong collaborative ties with other functions within and outside R&D, such as Manufacturing. As Senior Manager you will report directly to the Vice President of R&D for Seco Tools.
Your profile
You have a PhD in Physics or Materials Science and a proven track record in similar positions or an MSc coupled with long industrial experience from the cutting tool business. The role has global responsibility and requires a skill set that includes abilities to direct the innovation team, set priorities, allocate resources, be accountable, and achieve results through others.
We seek a team-oriented manager with strong interpersonal skills and a pragmatic and result oriented mind-set. You have experience in managing the work of strategic planning, management by objectives, project activities, change management and continuous improvement. You see and understand the greater strategic picture and you are able to translate this into your own area of responsibility, as well as take an active part in defining innovative strategies to address future market and business scenarios.
