We are looking for a driven senior construction manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent factory programs team based in Skellefteå. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing up Northvolt's ETT Giga-Factory and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.
About the job:
A Senior Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects, from planning and design to completion. They work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards and specifications.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for mechanical execution activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
Mechanical Execution Oversight: Lead and manage the execution of mechanical components of industrial projects, including equipment installation, piping, HVAC systems, and related mechanical systems. Ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet project milestones and deadlines. Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as needed to optimize project efficiency.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to mechanical execution and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address challenges to minimize disruptions and delays.
Safety Compliance: Champion a culture of safety throughout the construction process. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that mechanical work is executed to the highest standards. Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and industry regulations.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders. Provide updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions to ensure transparency and manage expectations.
Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Make informed decisions to optimize resource allocation and maintain project profitability.
Change Management: Evaluate potential changes to project scope and assess their impact on mechanical execution. Collaborate with relevant teams to manage change orders effectively while minimizing disruption.
Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the mechanical execution team, including site supervisors, engineers, contractors, and other relevant personnel. Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, work logs, and project records. Generate regular reports for management detailing project status, challenges, and key performance indicators.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience as a Construction Manager or similar role, with a focus on mechanical execution within the industrial sector.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment installation, piping, and related construction processes.
Strong understanding of safety regulations and industry best practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
