hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos The World Maritime University i Malmö The World Maritime Library is seeking a Library Assistant to run its circulation desk, assist in materials acquisition, and provide reference support. The successful applicant have primary responsibility for the management of the library's physical inventory, including loaning materials to patrons, in-processing new books and journal issues, maintaining library stacks, and generating notices to borrowers and vendors. Duties also include purchasing books and journals as approved by the librarian, tracking orders and processing invoices, as well as purchasing electronic pay-per-view articles and reports on behalf of patrons, and lending and borrowing books and articles via Interlibrary Loans. The Senior Library Assistant will coordinate with teaching faculty and ensure timely provision of materials needed for curriculum support.
The minimum requirements are verbal and writing fluency in English, demonstrated experience with an automated Library Management System, preferably Koha, strong knowledge of bibliographic search techniques and familiarity with the major commercial academic databases (e.g., Proquest, Ebrary, Springer, ScienceDirect, Ebsco, Ingenta, Informa, etc.), competent computer and book-keeping skills, an MLS degree or baccalaurate and three years' experience in an academic library. Knowledge of maritime information resources a plus.
