We are recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel to Gothenburg. As Senior Legal Counsel your main responsibility will be to provide legal services and advice in GTT's larger projects and within such projects co-ordinate legal advice from other involved divisions and business areas, as applicable. You will also need to provide legal support in other GTT matters and contribute to the continuous improvement work of our legal department. You will report to the SVP Legal & IP of GTT. The position will require frequent travelling from time to time.
Main activities and responsibilities:
• Provide legal services and advice with respect to GTT's larger projects which include inter alia drafting, negotiating and co-ordinating various agreements with the Volvo Group?s joint ventures and cooperation agreements with larger suppliers and partners;
• Enhance awareness of legal and commercial risks;
• Promote and support compliance with laws, regulations as well as internal legal processes and procedures;
• Develop and update template agreements;
• Provide internal training on legal issues;
• Assist in the preparation and interpretation of legal reports, statements or other documents;
• Provide advice and guidance on legal risks associated with various alternative means for achieving business objectives;
• Co-ordinate with other legal counsels within the Volvo Group; and
• Manage outside legal service providers.
Critical competencies for the position:
As Senior Legal Counsel, you shall have a Master of Law and a minimum of fifteen years solid legal experience from a law firm, as in-house legal counsel or equivalent experience. You should also have strong personal credibility and integrity and a can-do mind set with high drive and energy and be capable of performing multiple duties effectively in a fast paced environment.
High proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex international contracts together with solid experience and knowledge in contract and commercial law are very important requirements. Distinctive problem-solving abilities, good ability to quickly assess new situations, genuine business interest and communication skills are also pre-requisites for this position, together with cultural awareness and appreciation. You also need to be both a team player and be able to work individually and take full responsibility for from the legal side in the projects.
Excellent English communication skills, both orally and in writing are essential. A good understanding of the automotive businesses and international experience are considered as merits.
