For its location in Stockholm, UnitedLex is looking for a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Legal Counsel reporting to North & Central Europe Legal Director. The primary role of the legal adviser in this position will be to provide legal advise with minimum supervision in the IT services industry.
REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:
• European degree in Law, degree in economics or business in addition to legal qualification is a plus;
• Fluency in both English and Russian language, other Eastern European languages is a plus;
• Good working understanding of Swedish or other Scandinavian language;
• 7+ years of relevant experience in multiple jurisdictions within Nordics, East Europe, Russian and/or CIS countries, preferably in a global cross-functional team environment;
• Understanding of the major contractual and commercial elements of IT/outsourcing services agreements and/or software licensing agreements (e.g., services, service levels, pricing concepts, payment provisions, high-risk terms affecting performance and/or payment, security requirements,) shall be considered an advantage;
• Good understanding of and experience with GDPR, data protection and security, and intellectual property rights;
• Experience working with various business units and cross-functional teams across the corporate structure on a regional and global scale;
• Strong legal and commercial reasoning capacity, strong business understanding.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Providing legal advise to key stakeholders, including drafting and negotiating IT contracts with respect to complex commercial activities;
• Lead pre-litigation and dispute management activities;
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations;
• Draft and review legal opinions and other legal documents;
• Work as a member of the North & Central European legal teams;
• Consult and handle corporate legal matters;
• Attending and leading meetings;
• Lead internal governance activities and related communications.
