There is an open position as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research at EPSO, the Section for Epidemiology and Social Medicine. The section works on several levels and in collaboration with stakeholders in the community, to increase knowledge about the causes of the uneven distribution of health in different social groups and how these differences can be prevented. EPSO is also responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate educational programs within public health, medicine and pharmacy. Internationally, EPSO is active both in research, teaching and interaction with the community. Research areas include health related lifestyle factors, social inequalities, social structures and social factors in health and disease, and pharmaceutical outcomes research (from prescription to outcomes).
SPECIFIC SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research is a scientific discipline that deals with the role of medicines among individuals, populations and society.
JOB ASSIGNMENTS: Responsibilities include teaching pharmacoepidemiology and drug utilization at the Pharmacy programme. It also includes responsibility for the complementary education which comprises pharmaceutical legislation, and the Swedish disease panorama and drug utilization. Other teaching responsibilities may arise. Swedish is the teaching language.
ELIGIBILITY: The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. PhD degree in Pharmacy, Social medicine or other relevant subject and shown pedagogical skills. ASSESSMENT: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. First assessment criterion are pedagogical and scientific skills. In addition, ability to cooperate will be considered. Good knowledge in the Swedish language. Having a Pharmacist or a Dispensing pharmacist degree is an advantage.
