On 1st January 2010, Linnaeus University opened its doors for the first time as Sweden's newest university, the result of a merger between Kalmar University and Växjö University.Work Description
 Tasks include teaching, course planning and course administration at basic and advanced educational levels. The main teaching areas are development strategies and poverty reduction programs in developing countries as well as international development cooperation and global political economy with specific focus on the developing world. Additional tasks include development and active maintenance of cooperative relations with organizations and actors within the area of peace and development, as well as initiating, applying for and participating in externally funded research projects. Lectures are held in English.  
The position is full time and will start with at 6 moths long test period, so called "provanställning".

Selection Criteria

Required Qualifications

•  PhD degree in Peace and Development research, or other for the position relevant social science subject.
•  Documented pedagogical skills and experience in teaching within the subject area as well as student tutoring and thesis examinations.
•  Documented ability to teach in English.
•  Completed higher education teacher education, or the equivalent (if this requirement is not met employment can be offered for one year with a possible one-year extension. If the requirement is completed during this time the contract can be made permanent).

Documented

•  experience of working and/or conducting research in developing countries.
•  ability to conduct research within the subject field
•  extensive social skills
•  ability to teach and work as part of a team
•  ability to initiate and maintain international research and collaboration networks
•  language skills other than English

Preference in the Selection of Criteria

1. Pedagogical skills in teaching the subject (particularly development economy and international development cooperation) in English
2. Experience from working abroad with applied research and/or collaboration work
3. Research skills
4. Other criteria
