The institute of Health and Care Sciences conduct training for nurses, radiology nurse, midwife, specialist nurse. Basic training courses for nurses and radiographer leads both to a professional
degree and a bachelors degree. Training of midwives and specialist training with different orientations are professional degrees in combination with masters degree. All professional
programs lead to the identification professions. Moreover, given courses at the advanced level, which give opportunity for continued studies to a masters degree in one of the department's
main areas: nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography and nursing pedagogy. The department also conducted graduate studies in health sciences.

Specific subject description
Within the field of nursing we develop the knowledge about health, a good life despite illness or disability and the peaceful and dignified death. In nursing, it is not illness, disease, disability itself,
but people's reactions and interpretation of their illness that is in focus.
Job assignments
Responsibilities include teaching, course coordinator, supervision and examination primarily in courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in the institution's educational programs. Teaching in graduate programs may be included. The assignment as course coordinator is to develop and coordinate learning objectives, learning activities, assessment methods and
assessment criteria in relation to the content, purpose and current pedagogical research, and quality assurance of education with validated assessment forms. The responsibilities also includes
an active role in achieving the department's goals and business plans and participate in the planned joint meetings and activities at the institution. Holder of the employment is also expected to actively initiate and apply for external funding.
Eligibility
The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher
Education Ordinance.
The qualifications for this positions also requires you to be registered nurse.
Assessment
Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
Primarily, teaching skills, secound academic skills. Experience and current research on the learning needs of staff, patients and families from an individual and / or organizational perspective will be a highly compelling merit. Experience leading or participating in applicationsfor external research funding, supervision of theses or equivalent will be a highly compelling merit. International research and or training experience will be considered. For the appointment will also administrative skills and ability to cooperate will also be considered.
