The institute of Health and Care Sciences conduct training for nurses, radiology nurse, midwife, specialist nurse. Basic training courses for nurses and radiographer leads both to a professional
degree and a bachelors degree. Training of midwives and specialist training with different orientations are professional degrees in combination with masters degree. All professional
programs lead to the identification professions. Moreover, given courses at the advanced level, which give opportunity for continued studies to a masters degree in one of the department's
main areas: nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography and nursing pedagogy. The department also conducted graduate studies in health sciences.

Specific subject description
Within the field of nursing we develop the knowledge about health, a good life despite illness or disability and the peaceful and dignified death. In nursing, it is not illness, disease, disability itself,
but people's reactions and interpretation of their illness that is in focus.
Job assignments
Responsibilities include teaching, course coordination, supervision and examination primarily in advanced courses in specialist nursing programs in anesthesia, intensive care and surgical care. Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate programs can be included. The assignment as the
course coordinator is to develop and coordinate learning objectives, learning activities, assessment methods and assessment criteria in relation to the content, purpose and current
pedagogical research, and quality assurance of education with validated assessment forms. The responsibiliteis also includes an active role in achieving the department's goals and business plans and participate in the planned joint meetings and activities at the institution. Holder of the employment is also expected to actively initiate and apply for external funding.
Eligibility
The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
The qualifications for this positions requires a PhD degree, registered nurse and postgraduate diploma in specialist nursing in anaesthesia care/intensive care.
Assessment
Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4,
Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
Primarily is scientific and pedagogical skills. Highly compelling merit is current clinical experience in anesthesia care, intensive care or equivalent and current research in the area.
Experience in supervision of master students will be a highly compelling merit. Internationalresearch and training or experience, and experience leading or participating in the applications of external funding will be considered. For the appointment will also administrative skills and ability to work will also be considered.
