Senior lecturer in Medical Biochemistry

The Institute of Biomedicine at the Sahlgrenska Academy consists of six collaborating departments for preclinical as well as clinical research (
www.biomedicine.gu.se ). The research
the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Cell Biology covers basic mechanisms of gene expression and DNA replication, glycobiology and functional studies of mucins in the
gastrointestinal tract, molecular virology and microbiology, and angiogenesis and developmental biology. Several research groups are actively involved in cancer research and partners of the Sahlgrenska Cancer Centre.

Refers to the molecular basis for physiological and cellular processes of biomedical significance.
Job assignments
Responsibilities include teaching and course development for faculty undergraduate courses mainly within the medical, pharmacy, and biomedical laboratory science programs, with course leader responsibilities. The position also includes research and graduate education, and the successful applicant should pursue active research. The successful candidate is also expected to perform other duties normally associated with a senior lectureship, such as administrative tasks.
Eligibility
The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
PhD degree and demonstrated teaching skills.
Assessment Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4,
Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
The primary selection criterion is scientific and teaching skills. The candicate must display scientific and teaching skills relevant to the subject. The second selection criterion is
administrative skills and experience. We also expectthe candidate to have an interest and ability to communicate science to society and to the general public. Ability to cooperate will
also be considered.
The successful applicant may also be asked to complete an educational training programme within the first year of employment.
