The Institute of Health and Care Sciences offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as individual academic courses within the first and second cycle of higher education. Basic training courses for nurses and radiographers lead both to a professional degree and a bachelor's degree. Training of midwives and specialist nursing with different orientations are professional registration in combination with master's degree. All professional programs lead to professional registration. Moreover, courses are offered at the advanced level, which give opportunity for continued studies to a master's degree in one of the institute's main topics; nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography and health care pedagogics. The institute offers a postgraduate program leading to a PhD degree in Health Care Sciences.

Senior lecturer in Health Care Sciences specialized in quantitative methods
SPECIFIC SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: Health Care Science focuses on people's perceptions and experiences related to illness, disease and suffering. It does so partly in connection with the recovery, preservation and promotion of health and also in relation to the biological body and socio-cultural structures. Within the field there is a focus on how we learn as humans, as well as how care is organized.
JOB ASSIGNMENTS: Responsibilities include teaching, assignment as course coordinator, supervision and examination, mostly at undergraduate level at the Nursing program and with focus on the subject of quantitative methodology. Teaching may occur at postgraduate or PhD level courses. The assignment as course coordinator includes taking part in the development and coordination of the course's learning objectives, learning activities, assessment and assessment criteria in relation to the content, purpose and current pedagogical research, and quality assurance motivated operational plans in the Institute. The position includes taking efforts to participate in planned joint meetings and activities. The position holder is expected initiate and applies for external funding.
ELIGIBILITY: The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. PhD degree in Health Care sciences (Health Care sciences, medical biotechnology or other social sciences) or equalent and demonstrated pedagogical skills.
ASSESSMENT: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. The first assessment criterion is pedagogical skills and teaching experience with the quality and breadth in quantitative method of nursing and radiology nursing program. Then scientific skills and the ability to apply for and obtain external funding. Research with a diversity within the quantitative field is an advantage. In addition will also administrative skills and ability to cooperate be considered. The candidate is expected to teach in Swedish. The succesful applicant may also be asked to complete an educational program within the first year of employment.
