The Faculty of Education and is recognised for its innovative approach when it comes to devising teacher training programmes and collaborating with schools, municipalities, organisations and businesses. The Faculty has some 7,500 students and 320 employees, housed in six departments: Children, Youth and Society; Sport Science; The Individual and Society; Culture, Languages and Media, Environment and Society; School Development and Leadership.

Department of Culture, Languages and Media
The Department of Culture, Languages, and Media at Malmö University in Sweden invites applications for a half-time (50%) faculty appointment as Senior Lecturer in the English teacher program at the Faculty of Education and Society. Since the English teacher programs in Malmö are currently in a state of expansion, it is to be expected that the current position in a few years will be re-drafted as a full-time position (100%). Whether half time or full time, the workload is divided between teaching (70%), research (20%), and administration (10%). Pending final administrative approval, the appointment will begin in August 2018.

Work description
The duties of a Senior Lecturer involve independent teaching and course/programme management, duties as an examiner at the undergraduate and Master 's level, educational development work, independent research, and collaboration in various ways with wider society. You will be co-teaching classes in the English primary and secondary teacher education program (in English), the position also includes conducting student teaching observations in local schools. In addition, a Senior Lecturer is expected to pursue research and contribute to the research program of the Department of Culture, Languages and Media and the Faculty of Education and Society.

Qualifications
A person is qualified for appointment as Senior Lecturer if he or she:
1. has obtained a Ph.D. in either education, applied linguistics, educational linguistics, or linguistics with a focus on ESL/EFL,
2. has demonstrated teaching expertise through their ability to develop, conduct and manage English teacher education.
3. has demonstrated an ability to engage with wider society and communicate their activities within their area of responsibility.
4. Can show documented fluency in written and spoken English

Preferred qualifications that may be included in the application:
• Expertise in language assessment,
• Work experience and/or research on child language acquisition, and language teaching methods,
• Teaching degree and teaching certificate
• Experience of teaching in the primary or secondary school classroom,
• Supervising student teaching
• Supervising degree projects and thesis
• Conducting and overseeing research on teaching practice,
• International experience are highly desirable.

3. A pedagogical statement outlining your views on education and teaching,
4. A summary of your previous research and teaching experience, as well as an outline of what you wish to accomplish in the future with regard to teaching and research,
5. A list of publications,
6. A list of your five most important research publications, as well as your five most important educational publications/resources (text books, web tools etc),
7. References.
