Senior Lecturer in Energy Technology with specialization in Electro Engineering
(Dnr DUP 2012/1083/30)
The research profile ?Energy, Forests and Built Environments? has an interdisciplinary character with research in small-scale renewable energy technology and systems, energy efficient building construction and forest resources. The profile includes at the moment four professors, five associate professors, ten PhD and ten PhD students. Dalarna University has received funds for three years from EU for increased cooperation with companies in power and energy sectors in order to promote industrial growth within Dalarna. Within this context, there will be a special effort to recruit new researcher, one of these is a senior lecturer in energy technology with specialization in electro engineering.
Profile
The senior lecturer (assistant professor) position is a long-term full time position located at the School of Technology and Business Studies at campus Borlänge (Sweden).
Scientific field
Energy technology with specialization in electro engineering means in this context a broad research field comprising systems and components for electricity generation, distribution and usage. Research challenges within the research filed is development of electricity grids that includes distributed small-scale electricity production on the local net level fulfilling requirements of high quality, security and balance. The research is close to implementation and new knowledge will be exchanged with actors in the energy sector.
Duties
Establish research within energy technology with specialization in electro engineering.
Work actively to be granted externally funded research projects, with doctoral education and with projects commissioned by external partners.
Make a strategic development of the academic research in cooperation with the power industry in Dalarna.
Participate in education at basic and advanced level as well as supervise doctoral students. The teaching will be in courses on renewable power generation and photovoltaics. Specific responsibilities will be to and to develop courses in energy technology and electro engineering for the new bachelor programme in energy technology.
Qualifications required
The applicant should be eligible to be employed as senior lecturer at Dalarna University meaning that he/she should be able to prove that he/she has both scientific and pedagogic proficiency. Equal attention will be paid to the scientific and pedagogic skills (Chap. 4, § 7) of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance). The person considered for the position as senior lecturer shall prove scientific proficiency through independent research, which in the normal case means publishing in internationally well renowned scientific journals. The person considered for the position as senior lecturer shall, according to the University employment regulations, prove that have the pedagogic skills required for the position, and if no exceptional reasons exist, that they have received relevant pedagogic education.
