hela Sverige At the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, research and education are conducted in business administration, industrial engineering and management, resource recovery, building technology, and within the textile field: design, management and technology. The Faculty has five departments: the Department of Business Administration and Textile Management, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology, the Department of Textile Technology, and the Department of Design. There is also a department for workshop staff.
The Swedish School of Textiles, as well as the two centres, the Centre for Sustainable Society Development and the Swedish Institute for Innovative Retailing/The Retail Lab, are other important elements within the Faculty. At the Faculty, there are also two research schools: Resource Recovery and Textile and Fashion.
The Department of Design is currently seeking a Senior Lecturer in Design with a Focus on Garment Construction.
Job description
The position includes teaching, research and subject development in design with a particular focus on construction and form. Teaching will primarily be in the Bachelor's Programme in Fashion Design, the Bachelor's Programme in Textile Design and the Master's Programme in Fashion and Textile Design with roles as course coordinator and as examiner. In addition, supervision of design projects and thesis work is included at the undergraduate and graduate level. If the position-holder has Docent-level competence, supervision of doctoral work in design is included. The position-holder will participate in the department's collaboration with related textile education areas as well as entities outside the university and promote increased internationalisation of the design education programmes.
The position may also include the role of programme coordinator.
Qualifications
We are looking for a person who has demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a doctorate in fine, applied or performing arts, has demonstrated artistic expertise or has some other professional expertise that is of value in view of the subject matter of the post and the duties it will involve.
Experience in the teaching of construction within fashion design and experience in pedagogical work within the design area with a clear aesthetic orientation is a requirement for employment. Furthermore, you must have experience with the supervision of degree projects at the undergraduate and graduate level in the artistic field. The post also requires that you can communicate well in English.
A merit is innovative artistic research or artistic activity at a high international level. Good contacts within the industry and surrounding contexts to promote the university's collaboration efforts nationally and internationally is also seen as a merit. It is furthermore a merit if you have demonstrated organisational and administrative skills and can communicate orally and in writing in Swedish.
For a permanent position at the university, you must have completed a course of pedagogical training relevant to university instruction university education equivalent to 10 weeks full-time studies or equivalent knowledge. This course can be read as part of your employment during the first two years of employment.
