hela Sverige Mälardalen University is launching a new research profile ?Dependable Platforms for Autonomous systems and Control? (DPAC). In addition we are building up a new 5yr engineering undergraduate program in Dependable Aerospace Systems.
To this profile and program we are recruiting a senior lecturer that should specialize in hardware technology for predictable execution of parallel software on modern parallel hardware architectures. Assignments for the recruited lecturer include research in DPAC and teaching in the engineering program. The lecturer is also expected to engage in further development of research and education within the Embedded Systems environment.
DPAC aims to establish a leading research profile targeting dependable platforms for autonomous systems and control. This will be accomplished through close collaboration and interaction between four research groups at MDH and 10 participating industrial companies. DPAC is hosted at Mälardalen University in the Embedded Systems (ES) research environment. ES is an internationally leading environment in embedded-systems research and host 14 research groups with over 100 researchers, focusing of various aspects of development of embedded systems.
Qualification requirements
The qualification requirements for appointment as a Senior Lecturer are both documented teaching skills and also a degree of Doctor, or equivalent academic competence or other professional qualifications of significance with regard to the subject content of the appointment and the duties included in the appointment.
To be qualified for appointment as a Senior Lecturer the applicant must have demonstrated the academic skills and teaching abilities required for the appointment. Academic skills may also have been demonstrated by the ability to achieve results in research through cooperation in joint projects of benefit to academia and industry/the public sector/society in general and through the ability to disseminate research.
The assessment of teaching skills shall apply to the planning, carrying out and evaluation of teaching as well as supervision and examination. Teaching skills shall be well documented in such a way that their quality can also be assessed.
The applicant should have completed ten weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning, or have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge. A person appointed as a Senior Lecturer but lacking training in higher education teaching and learning will be offered in-house training during the first year. The course in higher education teaching and learning at Mälardalen University corresponds to ten weeks of training.
