Mälardalen University (MDH) announces a new position as a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science specializing in multicore real-time scheduling. The School of Innovation, Design and Engineering (IDT) at MDH conducts research and teaching education with a focus on real-time and embedded systems. The school is strengthening its activities in the field of multicore scheduling; hence a senior lectureship in this field is now advertised. The distribution of teaching and research depends on the current funding situation and actual need, but will in the closest future be around 70% research and 30% teaching.
The tasks of the position consist mainly of research, supervising PhD students, and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The appointment requires also to actively seek for funding, research grants, and to actively participate in strengthening the research and managing of projects in collaboration with industrial and academic partners.
The research will focus on developing theory, methods and tools for scheduling safety critical real-time applications on multicore platforms, including scheduling and schedulability analysis, synchronization protocols for resource sharing, compositional execution and analysis, adaptive resource allocation for dynamic systems, real-time operating system support and considering other system resources such as memory bandwidth, network and power consumption. Research experience and participation in international research projects related to this area is considered an additional qualification.
The qualification requirements for appointment as a senior lecturer are partly documented teaching skills and partly a Doctor's degree or equivalent academic competence or other professional qualifications of significance with regard to the subject content of the appointment and the duties included in the appointment.
