Independent courses in Design are also available. Your duties as a teacher will include teaching and supervision, administrative tasks, as well as following the development that occurs within your own subject area and any societal development that is of significance to your duties as a teacher. You will also be a part of a collegiate group of teachers who teach design at undergraduate (first-cycle) and master's (second-cycle) level. As part of your teaching duties you will also be expected to pursue artistic R&D work. A time-limited commission as Head of Programme (i.e. Head of Undergraduate Programme in Design, or, alternatively, Head of Master's Programme in Design, may be an additional part of your teaching post. In the organisational structure we have at present, this commission includes having staff and budgetary responsibility within the undergraduate (first-cycle) design programme, being responsible for the quality assurance of this programme, for developing and organising activities, not only from a student perspective but also in accordance with HDK's, the Faculty's and the University's visions and action plans. The head of this programme will be a part of the school's leadership group and will be directly responsible to the Head of the School.
Qualifications
In order to be qualified for a post as Senior Lecturer (GB)/Associate Professor (US) in the fine, applied and performing arts, you must fulfil the requirements of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance, chapter 4, 4, i.e.
• have demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a doctorate in the fine, applied or performing arts or have other professional expertise that is of value in view of the subject matter of the post and the duties it will involve
For this post, you must also fulfil the following requirements:
• have a master's degree/or the equivalent in Design or a subject related to Design
• have professional experience in design (in one or more of the areas of design represented in the programmes offered at HDK)
• have completed the course Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (given by the University of Gothenburg), or have documentation of having acquired equivalent knowledge
• have communicative skills
• have administrative skills
• have a very good command of written and spoken English
• have leadership experience and skills
Evaluation criteria
• artistic skills documented through wide artistic, professional experience of design activities within all the phases of the design process as well as through artistic projects, artistic R&D work or research
• pedagogical skills documented through experience of teaching, supervision and pedagogical development, preferably within higher education
• documented solid administrative experience and skills
• documented good cooperative skills
• documented and well-certified experience of staff leadership and development
