Position description:
Lead Engineer Steering Hardware.
I am seeking a Lead Engineer with Hardware design experience. You will have cross functional responsibility for developing and managing components and specifications together with the steering team, purchase and manufacturing to ensure functionality within the vehicle.

Main responsibilities
• Aid and contribute towards the development of the teams System and Hardware 'Super Modules' - Electrical Power Assisted Steering & Steering Column System solutions.
• Generate ideas and solutions and secure them in physical and architectural interfaces.
• Responsible in the creation and management of Design Pre-requisites.
• Support the team's cross functional deliveries within agreed time/cost/technique frames
through-out all development phases and milestones of a vehicle project.
• Secure Product Life Cycle Management for the steering components.
• Collaborate with suppliers to manage our sourcing needs from an engineering perspective.
• Work together with other sites, brands, platforms and partners globally.
• Drive both Design Reviews and technical issues that arise in relation to steering.
Required qualifications
• MSc or BSc in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics or similar.
• Experience in CAD (Catia) modelling and vehicle integration.
• Good knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management Systems at Volvo Cars:
• KDP/TCe/Catia/ (preferable)
• Experience working with Specifications (preferable)
• Physical and Virtual verification experience a merit.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Fluent in Swedish (preferable)
• Driver's license B or equivalent.
