Senior Internal Control Specialist

As a member of the Internal control team, you will get an opportunity to work with the strategic and operational development of Internal Control where we aim to take on the challenge of being one of the top Swedish Internal Control departments. The Internal Control function is now looking for a Senior Internal Control Specialist.

As a Senior Internal Control Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the Company's objectives related to maintaining a well-controlled business and financial internal control environment. In this role you will be reporting to the Head of Internal Control. Working in our team means that you have to think and act globally and be actively involved in our global financial processes. You will secure that the processes are of high quality and that proper key controls are in place. Working in the Internal Control department gives you a big opportunity to develop a wide circle of contacts within Volvo Cars as well as getting a comprehensive view of the internal control activities within the Group.

Main responsibilities

• Ensure good internal control and secure high quality within the financial processes
• Provide specialist competence, lead and drive the internal control questions within the Operations
• Perform process reviews, mapping and identification of key controls
• Support Operations in identifying, defining and closing adherence gaps
• Lead or participate in different projects and work proactive with financial processes and always strive for improvements
• Promote the importance of internal controls throughout the organization
• Provide training in all areas of internal control over external financial reporting
• Take active part in special attention reviews, investigations
• Close cooperation with finance process owners
• Support the Organization in the Self Assessment process

Required qualifications

• Education - Minimum a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, preferably with a major in Finance and Accountancy or equivalent
• A minimum of 8 years relevant working experience
• Accounting experience required
• Understanding of Finance processes
• Working experience from an operational function and/or experience from Internal Control/auditing and knowledge of applicable professional practices and frameworks is meritorious
• Experience within the manufacturing sector and the Inventory and Fixed Asset process is meritorious
• Knowledge in ISO 9001 and 14001 is meritorious
• Functional leadership skills
• Fluent in both written and spoken English

• Analytical skills and ability to take own initiatives to further develop the role and processes
