We require industrial designers to employ a range of creative design and engineering skills to help us develop and shape our base station products. These positions will incorporate innovating engineering design to fulfil the functional requirement development of these products with an aesthetic appeal. The designers will be based in Kista (Stockholm), Sweden working in a truly multicultural environment.
Essential Skills required:
5+ years experience designing telecom (or similar) products and an understanding of telecom domain trends. Experience in the design of product families. Excellent research skill – knowledge of product specification, costing, production materials and manufacturing methods for the volumes of product specified. Ability to evaluate feasibility of design ideas based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget and market characteristics.
A working knowledge of product identity design. A working knowledge of human factors and ergonomic. A working knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly. An understanding of corporate image and the development of concept. An ability to rapidly develop a wide variety of concept options based on form, function, colour, materials sensitive to market trends and requirements. Strong verbal and written English skills along with strong visual communication skills (sketching, drawing and rendering). A strong ability with (at least one) rendering package, CorelDRAW or Illustrator preferred. A strong ability with a 3D modelling software, Alias or Pro/ENGINEER preferred
Additional skills required:
Show a creative approach to problem solving in product design. Demonstrate previous examples of effective presentation skills. Good interpersonal skills
Beneficial:
2+ years as a project leader. Experience in the design centre of a multinational company
