About us
In the inbound logistics engineering EMEA team within supply chain logistics we work together with internal and external stakeholders to find the best logistical solutions for our global inbound supply chain towards our production plants in Europe. This is done by implementing our current standards and systems, but also data analysis and benchmarking to understand the full supply chain with potential cost savings and environmental impact as drivers. The current electrification journey Volvo Cars started, has a big impact on our network and it is crucial that we develop a transportation network that fits these future needs. We are a diverse team with international experience that is looking for an extra person to continue our journey.
What you will do
You will get a deep understanding of the global Volvo Cars inbound logistical network towards EMEA and become an expert. You will learn the logistical inbound processes and (digital) tools to develop and further improve these processes and tools. You will learn to know, set-up and design our network end to end from supporting the commercial process until implementation. This can be by implementing the current standards, but also by using new business models, partners and strategies based on your own and the team's expertise as well as cross functional work with other teams, benchmarking and network analysis will support you to make the best commercial and sustainable solution for Volvo Cars and our environment. Your employment location will be in Gothenburg.
Do you fit the profile?
You have many years solid and recent experience in a logistical function and A M.Sc. in Engineering or similar university degree in Supply Chain Management is a requirement. You have a good general understanding of the end-to-end supply chain with a focus on the inbound area. You are experienced in project management and understand commercial processes and you need to be fluent in English both written and spoken.
As person you easily grasps the big picture and sees opportunities, want to work in a global organization and can communicate effectively selling new ideas both to management and in operations. You will be active in driving change and implementing new ideas in cooperation with external partners. You are curious and base your solutions on facts, figures and analytics.
Meritorious skills
Previous experience in transportation and lean supply chain is a merit, a background in logistics or supply chain consultancy is an extra merit. Experience in multimodal transportation, crossdocking and sustainable solutions is an asset. You are interested in taking part of our journey to develop a global sustainable logistical network to support our new electric future.
