SRK Sweden currently has a vacancy for a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our team based in Skellefteå. The role will be to develop a local centre of expertise in Sweden and build a team to support the requirements of mining projects in the Nordic region and internationally.
Work expected to be undertaken
• Specialist water studies, including baseline data collection, dewatering management, slope depressurisation, pit lake management, closure evaluation, costing and planning etc.
• Water resources aspects of environmental/social impact assessment studies
• Supporting permit and authorisation application processes
• Contributing to project development studies from scoping through to engineering design
• Acting as project manager on technical studies
• Contributing to due diligence, third party reviews and competent persons reports
• Working as part of multi-disciplinary SRK teams
• Representing SRK professionally and interfacing at all levels with the client's management and operations (and those of their other consultants)
• Business development from new and existing clients
Our clients include major/mid-tier/junior mining companies, financial organisations and governments.
Requirements
The focus of the work would be in the Nordic region and as such, the individual should have experience of working in accordance with local legislation in one or more of the Nordic countries. Proficiency in a Nordic language is considered essential.
• Preferably a higher degree in hydrogeology and/or significant hydrogeology experience
• 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience
• Use of groundwater modelling, statistical and visualisation packages
• Track record of project management
• Strong report and proposal writing skills
• Strong communication skills
