You have a bachelor degree in electrical engineering or similar and at least 3 years of experience from testing circuits and sub-systems, preferably in the computer communications field. As senior engineer you are expected to be pedagogical and communicative, willingly providing guidance and mentoring to other team members. A part from this we believe you are self motivated and have the ability to work alone, managing own work and setting sensible priorities according to perceived requirements.
The right candidate should also be able to apply both electrical and mechanical core engineering skills in order drive detailed problem solving on products. Cross functional skills is also necessary in order to partner with HW and SW architects ensuring that planning for test infrastructure and requirements is integral to the product and technology development plan.
OUR QUALITY ASSURANCE UNIT
The Axis Center of Competence for Quality Assurance focuses on product testing, verification and validation. Our primary goal is to make sure that our products meet our high quality requirements when released from R&D. The main activity is testing and verification of software. Our principal collaboration partners are developers, project management and product management.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a senior test engineer you will play a key role in architecting test processes, tools, and methodologies for use across Axis' hardware product platforms. You will also bring new products to market by leading test and validation activity in fast paced multi-disciplinary product development teams. Your main tasks will be to:
• advice line management on issues regarding test equipment and alternative equipment solutions
• carry out Electrical/Mechanical performance testing of Axis' products to conformance approval standard
• write/develop Electrical and Mechanical Test instructions for testing of Axis' products
• perform environmental testing and evaluation of HW components, circuits and sub-systems
• work with external vendors on issues relating equipment
• keep abreast of new developments and test techniques in the field
