To succeed in this role you must have at least an M.S in Civil Engineering with practical experience of the delivery of geotechnical engineering solutions, a PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering or higher academic qualification would be advantageous but not essential. You will join our Transport division
As our new Geotechnical Consultant, you will be part of our world class, innovation driven engineering design centre collaborating with geotechnical engineering colleagues based in Sweden and abroad. Your focus will be the development of optimized solutions using your engineering capabilities combined with programming skills for automation.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
• Interpretation of Geotechnical Investigation Reports and assignment of appropriate geotechnical/geological design parameters.
• Soil Structural Interaction Analysis Modelling and Validation including the use of FEM tools.
• Process automation of workflows.
• Big Data processing and visualization from Ramboll dataset library.
• Interpretation and back analysis of foundation testing and ground monitoring data.
• Slope Stability Analysis and Ground Support Systems Design.
• Ground movement, Settlement Prediction and Risk Assessments for Urban Structures.
• Instrumentation and Monitoring Scheme Proposals and Data Reviewing.
• Preparation of Geotechnical/Geological design specifications and construction assessment criteria.
Your starting point for constant growth
From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:
• Possess 3+ years hands-on design experience including in the Geotechnical design in Infrastructure projects with some but not necessarily all of the following features: Retaining structures, Embankments, Excavations etc.
• Proficiency in Python programming language. Especially experience in machine learning packages in Python is a must. Knowledge of C++ is an added advantage.
• Experience in machine learning projects relevant to geotechnical applications (kindly elaborate on the project in the cover letter) is a must.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis in geotechnics is essential.
• Experience in Linux kernel and bash scripting is advantageous but not essential.
• Candidates having experience in working with Multinational Companies / overseas will be preferred.
• Knowledge in using advanced constitutive models for soft soils is mandatory.
• Proficiency in FEM packages such as PLAXIS 2D/3D.
• Good command of the English Language with proven report writing skills.
• Have strong communication, colleague liaison skills.
• Candidates with previous research experience shall be preferred.
• Should be a good team member and should coordinate with other team members and the project manager for timely delivery of project.
