An opportunity exists for an ambitious professional to be the financial leader of the International Commercial Business Unit which is a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's $0.6B ImmunoDiagnostics Division. In this position you will manage a team of two and will be offered an influential seat at the table of a growing and dynamic division, with substantial opportunity for career development and growth.
The ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD) develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. With 1,500 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and also the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Partner with the VP International Commercial Operations to drive top line growth in the Business Unit.
• Pro-actively analyze financial data trends, making and driving process improvements with the leadership team; and present significant business issues, with proposed actions, to senior management.
• Provide analytical business assessment information to make sound business decisions (e.g. product line profitability, pricing, promotions, rebates, and customer profitability).
• Improve on tools utilized by management to run business.
• Ensure timely, accurate and insightful reporting to the Vice President, Divisional leadership and other stakeholders, to ensure key business issues are communicated and acted upon.
• Identify, communicate, recommend and implement corrective actions
• Business case preparation and financial analysis/justifications of investment projects and customer contract proposals for larger/more strategic projects as assigned. Includes financial modeling to ensure appropriate resource allocation and return on investment.
• Analyze the global financial information of the Business Unit and assist in the evaluation of alternatives to drive growth
• Assist in the development and preparation of annual strategic plan, annual budget, monthly forecasts, and monthly results analysis
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization in reporting within the Business Unit. Understand key Business Unit operating metrics (price realization, volume performance, SMG&A spending, etc.) and measure performance to the established metrics.
• Develop effective working relationships with regional finance leaders, site controllers, and Business leaders.
• Drive creation and assist in the delivery of executive presentations.
• Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• An undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting is required; an MBA is strongly desired. An ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials, a strong aptitude in financial analysis, as well as a technical foundation in accounting.
• The successful candidate will be a well-rounded finance professional with a process-driven focus.
• You should have at least eight years of applicable business experience and be comfortable with working in a multi-site, global manufacturing organization.
• Strong knowledge of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis), Cognos reporting tool (or equivalent), Powerpoint, and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is a must.
• The successful candidate should expect travel of up to 25%.
