Scania's trucks and buses offer world leading driver experience through outstanding ergonomics and usability. As a part of Scania's department for Styling and Vehicle Ergonomics, the group Physical Vehicle Ergonomics handles aspects of physical ergonomics and usability of the driver environment. The group is responsible for identifying, communicating and verifying the physical requirements of the driver environment. The requirements are defined in terms of properties such as comfort, visibility, work load and usability.
As one of the senior ergonomists at the group has decided to leave for other challenges, the group is now looking for a new colleague with a deep knowledge and strong will to create vehicles with world leading driver ergonomics.
Your tasks
Your work will include
User studies/research
Testing and simulation of ergonomics using test rigs and CATIA/RAMSIS
Definition and communication of ergonomics requirements
Participate in cross functional meetings
You combine your own know-how and experience with input from studies performed at the group through simulations (Catia v5, Ramsis) and tests. However, you should have enough experience and self-confidence to be able to give preliminary answers to most general questions that relates to drivers ergonomics and usability.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a long experience from studying the physical potential and limitations of the human body and who has the ability to make it interesting and understandable even for non-ergonomists. Ability to visualise and to efficiently communicate your message is a key success factor in this role. You have several years of relevant working experience. You are pro-active, self going and communicative. You are convenient with and has a good ability to switch between the whole picture and the details. You have a M.Sc. degree in ergonomics, occupational science or equivalent. You can also be a specialist in one of our core properties.
You have a positive attitude towards working with continuous improvements. You speak fluent in English.
Other highly appreciated abilities:
Higher technical degree (Tech. Doc. or Lic) in a related area
Project management experience
Experience from work in a large organisation
Truck and/or bus driving experience
Swedish speaking
