Facility, Tooling and Equipment Body is part of the Volvo Car Groups Manufacturing Engineering Body department. The department is responsible for developing the process, implementing vehicle programs and engineering changes into the global production sites within the area of body construction. Our main tasks is to define the tooling strategy to meet the manufacturing targets. The section is divided into 3 groups and there are more than 60 people working in the group.
As a Senior Equipment Engineer PLC - Body you will be responsible for the area of PLC and Production Steering. You will support the running production for Industrial Engineering, Production and Maintenance, with third line analysis. You will also develop equipment strategies, as in a Subject Matter System (SMS) group as driver or participant. You will be one of the main contact persons to our suppliers for PLC hardware and software.
Main responsibilities
• Participate in or lead relevant standard- and technical organiations within the area of responsibility with authority to represent Volvo Car Group
• Lead or execute equipment projects
• Perform safety-, reliability- and cost analyses
• Interface with the main suppliers. This includes regular meetings, workshops, follow up deliveries and licences agreements
• SMS representative
• Technical advisor for the PLC and IT interface area
• Leading of general cross functional projects that involve technical areas like IT
• Maintain commonality within Volvo Cars Torslanda for the PLC software part
• Upgrade our standard, specification and SW to follow market with a close cooperation with our suppliers
• Implement software solutions that will be used in several assembly areas
• Be involved in the software integration of new hardware components
Required qualifications
• University degree in automation engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience from PLC, Siemens TIA portal or Mitsubishi
• Good knowledge of PCS (Production Control System), ex. GOB/TAP
• Knowledge from electrical components
• Knowledge of EN60204 electrical machine directive for safety
• Fluent in English ,written and spoken
• Drivers license B
