We at Outokumpu are now looking for two Senior Research & Development Engineers - one with expertise in physical metallurgy and one with long experience researching high-temperature steel oxidation and creep. Both positions are located in Avesta, Sweden.
As Engineer in an international research team, you will lead R&D projects supporting our R&D must-win battle creating future products and customer applications.

Main responsibilities include:
Initiate and lead R&D projects both internally and in cooperation with universities, institutes, and external customers
Development of new technical knowledge and initiate the development of new technologies for future challenges
Provide advanced support to operations and customers across all Outokumpu
Follow up current development trends and identify potential development areas in the field of expertise
Represent the company in internal and external assignments such as technology associations, conferences, supplier and customer visits

Who are you?

It is important that you have qualified experience and interest in at least one of the two fields of research - Physical metallurgy/welding or high-temperature oxidation and creep.

Qualifications
M.Sc./ Ph.D. in materials science, chemistry, or other relevant fields of study
Research education in physical metallurgy, welding, and/or creep and high-temperature oxidation
Working proficiency in English is required. Swedish language is considered an advantage
