This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join us as we embark on a significant Product shift transitioning from traditional diesel powered machines to an electrified landscape with multiple complexities. You'll have the responsibility and freedom to decide how the future for Lift Trucks engineering looks like and thrive on an empowered work environment. However, you'll not be alone in this journey, as it will be best made alongside a very experienced and competent team and clearly focused logical business strategies and leadership.
Although our electrification is already underway with ongoing project, the next 5 years ahead is where we focus as we electrify our entire product portfolio. Longer term there's additional technological advancements, and to be ready for that future we have to make sure the product today is prepared.
You will have the full responsibility throughout the planning and execution of engineering budget, strategies, plans for the engineering competence centres and leading the teams in both strategic and operational parts. You will be part of Product & Technology management team, reporting to the Director Product & Technology. The organisation consists of about 40 employees based across Sweden, Italy, China & India; working within the following areas:
Compliance, standards, and machine safety
R&D
System engineering
Mechanical engineering, powertrain & hydraulics
Electrical engineering & machine control
Reliability, maintainability & serviceability
Key focus areas
Motivate, engage, develop managers and employees
Create, own and responsibility for organisational strategies, plans & execution
Secure adequate competence availability needs to deliver plans
Engineering sponsor for the development of next generation of Lift Trucks
Responsible for functional and machine safety, product compliance and technical risk management
Close cooperation with the Director of Technology & Director of Digitalisation, to ensure our R&D, technology & digitalisation plans are realised
A member of the Strategic Product Board, and Project Board; two key strategic forums
Continuously work towards improving a healthier, safer, and more environmentally friendly operation
Continuous development of processes, systems, and methods for optimal efficiency
About you
We are looking for a humble yet confident leader. Someone passionate about technology and leadership and who has the ability to spread their energy and passion to others.
You are driven to want a world class engineering organisation and workplace, but practical and patience to make it happen. Strong leadership skills coupled with strong collaboration and coordination skills are essential to succeed in the role.
It is important to see where we are heading and what it takes to get there. You have a solution-oriented mindset to see what needed immediately, with the ability to see the big picture and think strategically.
We believe you have a Master of Science Engineering, preferably electrical or mechanical and that you have previous experience as an engineering manager or similar.
