hela Sverige Arcam EBM joined GE Additive in 2017 to further strengthen the additive offering with the unique Electron Beam Melting (EBM) technology, which is ideal for volume production of metal components. Arcam AB was founded in 1997 and delivered the first EBM system in 2003. Today, more than 300 systems are installed worldwide.
GE Additive design the most advanced metal 3D-printers in the world. Their state-of-the-art machines are designed by their engineering teams, manufactured in Sweden/Germany, and used worldwide to create rockets, medical implants, aircraft engines etc. The Electron Beam Melting division of GE Additive has the benefit of the smaller agile company with the muscles of an enterprise. The EBM division is located in Molnlycke and collaborate with colleagues in Germany, India, and US as well as customers all over the world.
The role
We are now looking for a Senior engineer to join the GE Additive HW & EBU design team. In this role you will get the opportunity to work in a great and experienced team responsible for achieving robust solutions. The Electron Beam Unit design team is self-organized, cross functional and in charge of all the steps in the release process, from initial idea to production.
The EBU is the subsystem that generates and controls the electron beam utilized to melt the powder bed which is the heart of EBM machine. If you're interested in working within additive manufacturing and are used to tasks and responsibilities which include high reliability that are tested, validated, and realized with a low cost, then you will thrive in this role.
Responsibilities included in this role are, for instance, designing, developing, testing and verifying new EBU designs. We work on product care and quality in existing EBU designs, as well as specifying hardware requirements, contributing to development of calibration hardware and software implementation, perform and document FMEA and much more.
Qualifications
• Master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Engineering or similar degree.
• A couple of years of experience in relevant industry or academia.
• Good knowledge in algorithms and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with Matlab, Python
• Fluent in English
