What's in it for you?
Senior Engineer Logistics, Core & Annual is a key role in the team belonging to the sub-unit Global Core & Car Program within the Global logistics team. You will be working with an engaged and diverse team of logistics engineers that are Subject Matter Experts in their respective field of responsibility.
This key logistics role gives a unique exposure to the product creation process at Volvo Cars as well an opportunity to impact the global logistics strategies and standards of a growing global industrial footprint in a truly cross functional process.
What you'll do
You will have the functionally responsible for
* Developing logistics strategies, requirements and standards related to in-plant material handling and/or packaging solutions globally alongside with ensure implementation of agreed logistics strategies and standards in new car programs before start of production, following the VCMS (Volvo Cars Manufacturing System) standards.
* Planning the logistics' work in car programs in the concept phase with the objective to secure that logistics strategies, requirements and standards are included in the industrialization phase in a quality and cost efficient manner.
* Secure product and logistics process compatibility for car program, including the implementation of established process strategies in the areas of in-plant material handling and packaging.
* Drive and protect commonality, standardization and cost efficiency in all key processes and across plants with a global alignment of standards in key areas.
* Creation of generic ideal layouts (whole site and/or individual areas) to logistics processes. Secure the application of lean principles in in-plant material handling.
* Develop strong interfaces and relationships with key stakeholders including Program Management and Manufacturing Engineering.
Do you fit the profile?
To be successful in this roll you should have planning experience in material handling and/or packaging from a manufacturing logistics environment alongside with experience and proven ability in cross functional work.
We believe that you are a strong communicator that are fluent in English both oral and written, as this is our company language. It is preferable if you have experience from an automotive logistics environment.
If you have experience of applying lean principles in manufacturing and/or logistics, have an understanding of Agile project management, project management and/or consultancy experience or experience of developing concepts in an early program phase, then those experience is meritorious for this role.
