The CVD engineering organization employs 600 persons and is organized into:
• Development centers (DC) - Responsible for development of key components/systems to be applied for several brands, markets and platforms
• Application centers (AC) - Responsible for development of specific components/systems, for installation in vehicle and to secure project deliveries.

The DC Disc Brake & Hub Group
The Disc Brake & Hub Group is responsible to develop the disc brakes and wheel-end hubs, including bearings, for all truck ranges and brands in Volvo Group, in order to reach the best QDCF. The team includes component owners, design engineers, calculation & simulation engineers. The team interacts globally with all AC sites and also with other engineering teams, functions and key suppliers. The team also develops the products through Advanced Engineering projects and secure synergies between global solutions. The DC Disc Brake & Hub is a multi-site team and has members in Lyon and Bangalore.

Tasks and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for one or more components within the wheel-end hubs, from concepts to production release, quality issues and product maintenance in cooperation with the other team members.
You will lead and take part in advanced engineering projects.
You will work in several projects with the colleagues in Gothenburg as well as all Volvo AC sites around the world in order to create optimized design solutions in terms of feature fulfillment, weight and cost.
You will also work cross-functionally with other Volvo organizations such as Purchasing, Factories, Aftermarket, FVV and you will have a close cooperation with the different suppliers for your components to anchor technical solutions from engineering.
Other parts of your tasks will be to, together with your colleagues, continuously improve your and our ways of working so that we as a team can learn from each other and work in a smarter and more efficient way.
Working in the DC Brakes & Hubs team will give you a broad network both inside and outside the company.

Qualifications
M. Sc. in mechanical engineering with an automotive specialization.
Minimum five years of professional experience in wheel-end hubs for commercial vehicles or similar in automotive industry.
You have an open positive attitude and you are goal oriented, flexible and capable of working on your own.
You have good ability to communicate and to work with people at different levels since the network is broad both inside and outside the company.
Experience from cast components is considered an additional qualification.
Knowledge in the CAD system (CREO) and experience from working in the Volvo PDM systems and KOLA is a merit.
Good knowledge in written and spoken English is a must.
