hela Sverige We are now looking to hire a Senior Director within Oral Product Development, based at our site in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Pharmaceutical Technology and Development (PT&D) is the organization that turns brilliant science into actual medicines that help millions of people. We work across the entire value chain, designing and delivering active ingredients, formulations and devices for new medicines and providing expert technical support to all AstraZeneca's commercial drug substances and products to ensure we successfully supply medicines to patients.
In Oral Product Development (OPD), we focus on the design and development of commercial products and processes, contribute to new product introductions and continuous improvement of launched products. We work across several therapy and disease areas developing a wide range of products including e.g. immediate release and controlled release oral dosage forms and applying a variety of manufacturing methods, including continuous manufacturing technologies.
OPD is responsible for developing the commercial formulations and manufacturing methods for AstraZeneca's oral products' portfolio. The department has two units in Gothenburg, one in Macclesfield and one in Wuxi.
What you'll do
You will be managing a unit of about 50 people. You will have about 4-5 Team Managers and several Principle Scientists reporting to you. As accountable Senior Director, you will be responsible for the development of the commercial formulations and manufacturing processes for a part of AstraZeneca's oral products' portfolio. Resources within your unit may be working on projects in your own unit or in one of the other two units or even on projects in other departments (New Modalities and Parenterals Development or Inhaled Product Development). This role comes with responsibilities in defining and implementing the departmental strategy. You will liaise on a continuous basis with colleagues in the three sites where OPD is located as well as with partners in Pharm Sci, Chemical Development, Technical Operations, Science & Innovation.
Essential requirements
* Strong knowledge of relevant science and technologies in the space of oral product development, including transformation to digital solutions. A PhD in relevant scientific discipline.
* Excellent and proven people management skills
* Excellent understanding of oral product science and manufacturing technologies
* Ability to manage complex projects and complex organizations, deal with uncertainties and risk taking
* Strong communication skills and people motivator
* Experience with the regulatory approval process.
* Experienced with GMP
* Proven entrepreneurial qualities
* Capable of working across cultures
Desirable requirements
* Experienced with OPD's Product Development Process.
* Relevant external network
