JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be working in a team that has the shared responsibility to produce diagnostic content and technical information for our workshops and to develop our diagnostic strategies for the future. Your main focus as the Senior Diagnostic Engineer will be to develop diagnostic concepts and solutions, which means extensive cross-functional work with the other parts of the Volvo Bus development organization. You will also be responsible for implementing the technological strategies for our technical areas. You will be the go-to person in the team for the Offboard Diagnostic area, supporting both the Operational Product Owner and the other developers in your team with your expertise and knowledge, and often representing the team and our areas in technical discussions with other parts of the product development organization. You will be assisting the Operational Product Owner in building knowledge and competence in the team, as well as helping to train the newer diagnostic engineers.
We cover all products within Volvo Buses globally, and you will gain a broad foundation in product and system knowledge, ranging from legacy buses and systems to the buses of the future. We often work cross-functionally with colleagues in other departments, in other companies within the Volvo group, on other sites, and within the market support functions. You will have the opportunity to grow a broad network as well as develop your technical competencies and knowledge about the products in the team and the products that Volvo Buses develops.

You will be part of a team where we encourage having fun at work and where we believe in the power of teamwork. Our department, Diagnostic & Embedded Systems, is a function within Global Bus Technology (GBT) at Volvo Buses responsible for developing offboard diagnostic solutions and vehicle software deployment solutions for aftermarket. We have the global responsibility for our technical areas, also covering quality and maintenance in our systems and tools. In close cooperation with our colleagues at SMT, we develop the complete aftermarket support for our products.
THIS PROBABLY DEFINES YOU
BSc or MSc degree in mechatronics/electrical engineering or equivalent
Experience within Aftermarket Technology or within similar areas of Vehicle Engineering at Volvo Group
Experience in developing diagnostic solutions or fault tracing systems at Volvo Group using SEWS and Grade-X.
Experience with diagnostic processes and concept development at Volvo Group or other automotive companies.
Comfortable to work both independently and in teams
Great communication skills in English
Good networking skills
