The section Boosting & Exhaust systems is part of Engine Engineering within Powertrain Development and employs a total of 70 people in different roles. The section is responsible for the development and application of Boosting & Exhaust systems hardware for all Volvo Cars vehicles. Boosting & Exhaust systems consists of five development groups: Boosting Systems, Exhaust After treatment Diesel, Exhaust After treatment Gasoline, Exhaust Systems and Sensors and EATS DPS & Sensors.
We are now looking for a Senior Design Engineer/GDL (Group Design Leader) to the group Exhaust Systems. The group is responsible for the canning work of the hot end - catalysts and downpipe in all applications and the brackets needed to support the installation. The group consists today of 16 people where you will be a valuable team-member.
What you will do
As a Senior Design Engineer/Group Design Leader you will have the responsibility to take a specific project in to production. That includes to secure the design-work, timeplans, part delieveries to builds, testing and all other activities related to industrialisation. You will work closely together with the component responsibles within the team. One of your main tasks is to be the teams representative towards the project and purchasing. In your daily work you will work closely with suppliers, manufacturing and other internal/external boundaries.
For the right person there will be good opportunities to take on more responsibilities. We also work with each employee and set up individual development plans.
Main responsibilities:
* Bring the project you are responsible for into production
* Responsible that we fulfil deliveries to concerned project including time plans, prototype builds and tests and that all admin systems are updated
* Lead the design work within the team for your specific responsibility
* Lead internal design meeting, GTO (Group Technical Meeting)
* Cross-functional co-operation with other areas within P&Q
* Report the status to project leaders, management and other parties
Requirements
* Degree in mechanical engineering or equivavlent
* Design experience
* Experience from making reports and presentations
* Fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken)
* Expeience from catalyst area is meritorious
