This is us, your new colleagues
The group Oil and Retarder systems is a part of the Driveline section within Powertrain Engineering, Volvo Group Trucks Technology. We are 11 engineers in different roles, system responsible, component responsible and design engineers. We are working with hardware development for Oil systems, Retarders and Power take-offs for in-house developed gearboxes /electro-mobility systems; used worldwide in different brands and applications. We collaborate and help each other; we are a supportive group, and we perform and grow together.
What you will do
You will be a part of the oil system team with responsibility for the oil systems in our transmissions, both conventional as well as the ones used in electromobility powertrains. To reach the required durability of the transmission the oil system has an essential function, both in regards of lubrication and cooling of the transmission.
The oil system consists of several different components, both purchased and in-house designed parts. You will have frequent contacts with our own plants and our suppliers. This role grasps a broad technical area as you will deal with parts made from e.g., high pressure aluminum, steel plates and plastics.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Be part of the cross functional teamwork with suppliers, machining, and assembly plants, purchasing, quality assurance, aftermarket, and service organization
3D modeling and drawing preparation for the components
Ensuring the design by general quality tools (e.g., FMEA, tolerance stack-up)
Create, follow up and participate in the design and verification plan for our components and interact with different stakeholders
Who are you?

Your experience and good skills with using Pro/E and Volvo systems such as Kola, PDMlink etc.
Preferably you have at least 5 years knowledge in powertrain engineering
You have a M.Sc. degree or equivalent experience
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
You are a result-oriented individual with problem solving focus and good ability to adapt constant changes. A self-driven individual, someone who is positive with a lot of energy. As a team member of the Driveline, you are expected to enjoy working in teams as well as on your own, take responsibility, be creative and pro-active, have strong customer focus and share knowledge. You should have a drive to develop yourself as a professional and accept new challenges in our dynamic environment.
To be a successful candidate, besides strong technical skills, you also need to enjoy interacting with people of different backgrounds and organizational belongings and as well you must realize the importance of customers, production, and quality requirements within product development.
