The department Body & Trim develops most of what you see on the outside of the car. We are responsible for the entire process of construction of exterior systems such as glass, bumpers, moldings, lighting, and large injection molded exterior plastic parts. We have the development responsibility for Volvo Car Group's all product families and the development work is done in close cooperation with our development and production suppliers. Development activities are carried out mainly in Gothenburg. You work in a creative environment where tomorrow's cars are shaped. We work in flexible cross-functional teams tailored for each development task. Within the group we have a great atmosphere. We are caring and helping each other when needed.
As Senior Design Engineer within the group Exterior Plastics & Bumper Development you will be responsible for the development of complete front and rear Bumper System and body covers such as Wheel Arch Extensions, Lower Door Mouldings, Sill Moulding and Tailgate/Trunklid Spoilers. With many different components and systems you will have a very big interface internally which will give you a broad network. You will work in a creative environment where tomorrow's cars are shaped.
Main responsibilities
• Developing part of complete Bumper Systems or exterior body cover parts, from concept phase until start of production.
• Collaboration with responsible Design Lead
Required qualifications
• B.Sc. grade within mechanics or similar education.
• Good knowledge in TCe & Catia V5 incl 3DPMI
• Knowledge of injection moulding technology from manufacturability, injection moulding process, injection moulding tool design is meritorious
• Complete vehicle integration meritorious
• Template development is meritorious
• Driver license level B
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

• Willing to learn and show interest for new challenges
• You find it exiting to work in a development environment with a high rate of change and complex problems to solve
• Team player with good communication skills
• Personal energy
