At Research & Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. Exterior front, within the exterior department is divided into two main areas, bumper systems and front systems. As a Senior Design Engineer at Front systems, you will verify solutions and recommend needed change of the design referring to technique, quality, service, environment, market adaption and cost. You will also put together meetings with suppliers and people from other departments needed in the area to secure your solution. You will also be expected to help and guide the younger and more inexperienced engineers.
Main responsibilities
* Ensure that technical documents (as models and 3DPMI/drawings) are created in time and that they fulfil all Volvo Car Group-standards and specifications
* Make sure structure in Team Center (TCe) is correct and aligned with KDP and fulfils requirements for primary and secondary documents
* Contribution in creation of other technical- and requirement documentation
* Make judgement and solutions of risks found
* Recommend new solutions for components needed and deviations
* Contribute to Lessons Learned and follow up on your own and other designs from CAD to physical parts
* Be part of the geometry setting process
Desired qualifications
* University degree in engineering (Bachelor, Master or PhD) or equivalent experience
* 6+ years of experience from design engineering
* Very good knowledge in Catia V5 and Team Center
* Good knowledge in various PC application (such as MS Office)
* Experience from leading others is an advantage
* Good knowledge in the automotive product development process
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver's license B
