We are looking for you who are passionate about the possibilities of data, high data quality and its value for business. You appreciate the mix of strategic thinking and turning data quality management developments into practice. Working both independently and interdependently with the data quality network and cross functions is a great motivation for you and you enjoy working agile, as well as in a constantly changing environment. Sharing and living the IKEA culture and values comes natural to you.
We believe that you have proven training in information technology, business information management or equivalent. You have a strong understanding of what good data quality means and why it is crucial for the performance and competitive advantage of large companies today. You have relevant experience from working with data and/or analytics and managing data-related enquiries from senior stakeholders. Preferably, you are also experienced in working in an Agile or DevOps working set-up and you have good knowledge of IKEA Brand, culture, values and way of working.
You have knowledge in following areas:
• How to work with graphical data quality tools (eg Cloud Dataprep or SAP Information Steward).
• Extensive knowledge of modern tools and principles for Data Governance at scale in an industry setting
• Extensive knowledge of data models (e.g. hierarchical, or relational) and how to translate them into technical improvements of our database designs
• Understanding of potential impact of insufficient data quality
• IKEAs corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people
As a person you perform work with care, accuracy and with attention to detail and you always strive to meet quality standards. You have the ability to take a pragmatic and decisive problem-solving approach and to perform data queries with limited support. By acquiring new knowledge and skills, as well as new methods, digital systems and processes you improve performance. You digest large amounts of data and balance the business requirements with real-world information issues. Thanks to strong written and verbal communication skills you easily communicate the importance of data quality and you actively collaborate with stakeholders (incl. virtual) to achieve goals. In addition to this, you also have the ability to understand the complexity of IKEA business and the role of technology as an integrated part of the business.
ABOUT THE JOB
In this position you will have the exciting task to lead the change of Ingka into a more data driven company by ensuring that accurate, trusted and value-generating data is available throughout Ingka, with appropriate governance and processes in place, enabling fast and controlled consumption by co-workers and product/platform teams
You will:
• Lead the adoption and implementation of data quality and governance frameworks within cross-functional product and platform teams that collect, modify and publish master or high value data, to improve usability and seamless consumption by the many
• Define appropriate quantitative measures of data quality and lead the implementation of data validation checks as well as quality performance tracking in general, in order to effectively improve data quality within a product domain
• Take responsibility for the resolution of root causes of bad quality data, working with stakeholders within and outside the domain to ensure that appropriate mitigating measures end up in, and are prioritised within, the backlog(s) of the team(s) responsible for managing it
• Lead and pro-actively educate the organisation on agile ways of working in relation to data quality, ensuring that performance metrics are defined appropriately within the team and become part of the OKRs to secure a reliable foundation for data-driven product development across the entire digital product landscape
• Proactively manage relevant organisational processes, including meetings with relevant stakeholders and/or teams to drive an intended outcome
• Ensure that analytics solutions are built according to best practices by continually learning from and benchmarking against industry standards
• Engage in interviewing, coaching and mentoring of junior team members in order to secure transfer of competence and a high performing team
