The Analytics & AI eART drives transformation and implementation of Analytics & AI within Volvo Cars Research & Development. The department also handles competence growth and collaborations within Analytics & AI. Our teams act cross-functionally and work together with our different domains within R&D. A development team consists of Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Software Engineers developing product applications and services with a direct or indirect connection to our cars.

Your contribution
Based on a well-defined analytical challenge, you will deliver valuable results and insights based on the data supplied to you by our team of Data Engineering specialist team.
You will be responsible for turning data into insights using for example modern analytics and machine learning techniques, designing and building AI solutions to automate analysis processes. You will be applying an agile mindset to achieve high-performing results. and using the latest analytics tools & methods to understand, predict and bring our data to life using modern visualization techniques. Furthermore, you will be bringing our data to life by applying the latest analytics tools and methods. This includes exploring the data, modeling, and visualizing with modern techniques. You will be translating the business problems into quantitative problems, building and verifying quantitative models based on provided data, and integrating the mode ls into a full solution or insight. You will also validate that the result solution/insight meets the customer requirements in an excellent way.
What you bring
We see that you have a M Sc/PhD in statistics, engineering, computer science, applied mathematics or other relevant fields, in addition, you will need at least five years of ' experience within the industry. You have a proven strong mathematical background and a good understanding of appropriate statistical techniques. You will also need advanced programming skills, preferably in at least two of the following languages Python, R, Julia, Scala or Matlab.
You are a great communicator, comfortable presenting your result s and you possess strong visualization skills.
In addition, competence within the areas listed below areas will be considered beneficial.
• Machine learning, statistics, optimization and data mining tools, frameworks and algorithms
• Experience from different problem domains and data types (including time-series, images )
• Building and designing analytical solutions of different kinds - from visual descriptive solutions to optimized decision support or automated decisions (prescriptive solutions).
• Experience in working on cloud platforms
• Numerical methods and scientific computing
• Linux/unix environments and Github
