Senior Data Architect

ABOUT YOU

We believe you bring a minimum of 5 years' experience from a similar role and advanced training in information technology, computer science or equivalent. You also bring experience in Data Warehouse Design, Data Migration Design, MDM, analytics and Data Quality initiatives. Furthermore, you have experience in industry leading packaged solutions, working with different programming languages and applications. You also have delivery experience of open source and/or cloud-based solutions and have been exposed to large-scale package implementations. In addition, you are confident in digging into code and you have knowledge how things are working.

You have knowledge in the following:
• extensive knowledge of patterns and archetypes for different types of data architectures e.g. streaming, IoT, big data analysis
• standard patterns and services of the cloud offerings on Google, AWS and Azure
• possibilities and restrictions of architecture solutions to develop a feasible architecture design
• experience with DevOps and agile development practices, in which requirements and solutions evolve through the collaborative effort of self-organizing cross-functional teams
• fast moving data technology landscape

You possess the ability to capture, interpret and translate business requirements in terms of information, data and technical architecture, database technology and data model design. In addition, you are competent to actively acquire new knowledge and skills and champion new methods, digital systems and processes to improve performance. You know how to review user-story prioritisation based on new ideas, approaches, and strategies. Moreover, you collaborate with others to achieve goals and have a clear understanding regarding the complexity of IKEA business and the role of technology as an integrated part of the business.

ABOUT THE JOB
In this role your main tasks is to translate the business operating model into reliable and robust data architecture structures, enabling deployment of the right data modelling tools, techniques and methodologies that will support the IKEA business.

You will:
• be responsible for the translation of the business operating model and business requirements into information- and data architecture solutions, including conceptual, logical and physical models
• be responsible for the strategy, design and development of data architecture solutions, formalising the metadata descriptions and capture methods, registries and workflow
• independently accountable for building and maintaining one or more data architecture solutions on the framework
• collaborate closely with data managers and -engineers in actively advising core stakeholders including product owners and on future data management technology options, outlining risks, costs, benefits, and capabilities
• analyse and define master data management strategies and models to diminish architectural risks and propose alternatives to improve the overall integrity of the data architecture
• regularly review the effectiveness of existing architectures and come up with improvements
• act as the main point of contact to resolve incidents, requests and perform root cause analysis for data architecture issues within the agile team
• work closely together with other data architects and cross functions to produce all required design specifications and ensure that data solutions work together and fulfil business needs
• updating the common Group Digital site on standards and methods when necessary to ensure alignment across the Group Digital
• support chapter lead in coaching and develop junior team members on functional expertise
• work across initiatives within INGKA Group, steering solutions towards the correct architecture

In this role you will report to Data Architecture Chapter Lead.
