About the role
On behaf of our client we are now searching for a Senior Customs Specialist, who will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth import processes within Sweden and the Nordic region. As a seasoned professional in customs, you 'll be responible for overseeing import controls, verifying documentation accuracy, and maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks.
In your role as Senior Customs Specialist your main tasks will include:
* Reviewing value declarations against supporting documentation for imports.
* Ensuring the correct usage of origin certificates in the import process and liaising with customs brokers for any necessary corrections.
* Downloading and analyzing reports from customs authorities ' websites.
* Generating and submitting reports for CBAM on a quarterly basis.
This assignment starts as soon as possible, and continues until the end of the year.
About you
To excel in this role, you should possess a senior-level background in customs with extensive experience in import operations, ideally within Sweden and the Nordic region. Your expertise will be essential in navigating complex import procedures and fostering seamless transactions.
Required skills:
* In-depth knowledge of customs processes, legislation, and import procedures, particularly within Sweden and the Nordic countries.
* Previous experience working with customs brokers or freight forwarders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
* Fluent English, verbal and written
Preferred skills:
* Familiarity with CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism).
* Understanding of Inward Processing Relief or Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) schemes.
Soft skills:
* Proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances.
* Strong analytical skills.
