About the position
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with an industrial background.
You will be collaborating with our experts from different research teams in the areas of Software testing & Validation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), cybersecurity and Internet of Things (IoT) to name a few and will have the chance to join and contribute to research projects in these areas. You should have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. It is also important that you can understand results from our research projects, can pair them with real client needs and transform them into high quality software, tailored to industry's needs and business objectives - to make a real difference.

As a senior software engineer with us at RISE, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborate with our researchers and define results that can be tailored to cover urgent needs from industry and public sector
- Understand our customers' needs and challenges and see possibilities when we can help them
- Create and execute projects based on client needs, based on the team's research
- Develop high-quality software design and architecture
- Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
- Perform validation and verification testing
Your profile
In order for you to succeed and thrive in this position we believe you possess at least 5 years proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with industrial background. This includes extensive experience in software development, scripting and project management and that you have excellent programming skills (e.g., C, C++, Java and Python).
As a person, we see that you are curious, goal-oriented, flexible, and communicative. You have an analytical mind with a problem-solving attitude. You are skilled in presenting and documenting your work, as well as work from your research colleagues both in English and Swedish, i.e., to describe the problem, the solution, and the approach in an understandable manner.
You have at least a Master's Degree in computer science or a related degree. In addition, it's a merit if you have experience in any of the following:
- Have a background and experience in testing highly configurable, variant-rich embedded systems in the industrial production domains.
- Have experience or deep interest in distributed systems (Cloud/Fog/Edge), wireless communication, Industrial IoT, machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms.
- Be able to read and understand state of the art research in IoT, Software testing and Validation and machine learning
