Role
We are looking for an ambitious person with relevant electrical engineering experience to join our international team. Do you want to take a key role in the development of wave energy?
Responsibilities
System owner of the electrical control and communication systems, including control and network hardware within the Wave Energy Converters and the farm infrastructure.
Establish requirement specifications for systems and components
Perform electrical system design work, produce detailed diagrams using 2D CAD system
Produce technical documentation
Perform failure mode, effects and criticality analysis for modules and system
Manage your modules to meet performance, schedule and budget targets
Investigate new solutions to improve performance, reliability or manufacturability
Support procurement activities, including component and supplier selection, manufacturing and factory acceptance testing
Perform assembly and testing of modules and prototypes system in our assembly hall
Support installations in the field
Skills and qualifications
You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant background of developing control systems for industrial applications with a track record of successfully taking new products through planning, designing, manufacturing and commercialization. Having worked with harsh environments such as offshore, mining or other challenging sectors is a plus.
You may have a B.Sc or a M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering or related disciplines, but your personality, experience and interest in the field is the most important. You are proficient in English, both spoken and written.
For this role we value experience in:
Developing industrial systems for autonomous, reliable, responsive, real-time control
Previous product responsibility, from one-off prototypes to volume products
Applicable standards for marine environments, control systems & machine safety
Redundant & modular system design for high availability
Networking solutions based on redundancy protocols (for example RSTP & Turboring)
Industrial ethernet protocols (for example Profinet, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP)
Layer-2 handling (broadcast domain structuring, VLAN)
Layer-3 handling including static/dynamic routing (RIP, OSPF)
Integration of radio, satellite and cellular phone as redundant data links together with fibre as primary link.
Low-level communications (AS-interface, IO-Link, serial)
Wireless mesh-networking
