Sweco's services within mine environment are seeing an uprising demand in Scandinavia. We are thus expanding our business and looking for you with interest and experience in environmental management of mine sites. We are seeking senior personnel to take us and our clients further on this journey.

Why work with us?
Today, we are a well-knit group specialized in project management and environmental management of mine-related assignments as well as technical studies within the field of contaminated areas and mine waste. Through our geographical spread, we provide excellent local presence and proximity to our customers. The team's experience and project portfolio offer a wide range of technical challenges and types of projects at various mine sites. Flexibility and collaboration are some of our middle names - you can count on not having to be alone with your challenges.

We dare to say that we are one of Sweden's most attractive workplaces. With us, you get the opportunity to create a sustainable society by working in an organization that takes responsibility and makes visions a reality. Professional development at Sweco is not just an opportunity, it is a prerequisite.

Your future role
You will be part of a group with both experienced and mid-senior environmental consultants working within contaminated areas and mining waste where you will have great opportunities to both develop and take responsibility. You will be involved in the planning and implementation of client's projects and in the development of our business. At Sweco, we work in teams and use the expertise available around the whole of Europe.

The duties include, for example, assignment lead in multi-disciplinary projects, environmental impact assessments, technical hydrogeological or hydrological studies, technical lead in closure planning (from PFS to final design), or environmental support within permitting or operational processes. We work with multiple operational metal mines in Scandinavia and overseas in both green- and brownfield projects. Our clients are private and state-owned mining companies at all stages of maturity.

It is envisaged that you work closely with our clients, take responsibility, and lead or actively contribute to tender work. Moreover, you take technical and budget responsibility within the assignments towards our customers and keep high quality of timely deliverables.

Your responsibilities at a glance:

• Deliver forefront technical solutions, engage in multi-disciplinary working approaches where applicable, and collaborate with technical experts within the same or neighboring fields.
• Build a strong team around you, strive to show leadership, and be courageous to lead the change.
• Ensure projects are executed according to budgeted time, cost, and scope/quality.
• Run or participate in several projects at the same time.
• Represent Sweco and live Sweco's core values of proactivity, safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
• Working with us includes responsibility, flexibility, problem-solving, technical challenges, highly skilled colleagues, and an exciting international workplace where client needs, sustainability, and digitalization are in focus.

Your experiences
We are looking for you who have a university or doctoral degree in a relevant subject area with at least 10 years of experience in mine environment work from the industry, consultancy, authorities, or contractors. We are interested in strengthening our team both within project management, hydrogeology, geochemistry, waste management planning, and closure planning of mine sites. We attach great importance to your personal qualities and your desire to develop as an environmental consultant. You are fluent in Swedish or English, additional languages such as Finnish, Norwegian or Spanish are beneficial. Driving license is a prerequisite for this position.

Who you are
You enjoy the variability working in multiple assignments and at different geographical locations such in the office, out at the customer's office or site or in the field. You take responsibility, work in a group and are curios to understand our customers' needs and challenges and take on tasks with drive and commitment.

The work involves contacts with both private and state-owned clients, authorities, and contractors, which makes it important with excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. You are open and responsive with a clear customer focus and find it easy to connect to others and to collaborate. It is important that you are flexible and that you are happy to take on and develop both our own and our client's businesses. You are business-minded, result-oriented, strategic and can independently plan, organize, and propel both your own and other people's work.
